Change is the only constant, so I’ve always embraced it!

In 1977, I changed my home in the rural Midwest to the bright lights of London. Next, after years of research and planning, I changed my face and body. That created an unexpected demand for my hard-won specialist knowledge, so I changed my career trajectory accordingly. In my late 50s, I changed my nationality, swearing an oath to Queen and country.

So, although I wasn’t BORN in the UK, I was MADE here - in every sense of the word!

I started consulting in 1987, long before aesthetic procedures became mainstream. There were relatively few doctors and procedures to choose from. Clients with previous procedures were rare.

Today there are endless surgical and nonsurgical options on the market. Many clients now come with a history of random treatments & operations with mixed results, which they underwent in no particular order without any long-term strategy, often wasting considerable time and money. Revisions and do-overs are becoming the norm.

After analyzing innumerable cases, I wrote a concise ebook revealing the hidden factors responsible for patient dissatisfaction. It explains how so many end up with underwhelming results, look worse than before, or paid too much. My ebook is not for everybody; it's only for those who want to maximize their chances of success. 🙌

I’m often asked what brought me to the UK. It was a Boeing 747. 😂

But the reason I’m here is because of the 1960s British Invasion. I’m part of the Baby Boom generation who saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan in 1964. Twiggy and her fellow Brits made a huge cultural impact on the world and on me personally. Thus, I gave myself a Beatle haircut (see inset) and decided to move to London when I grew up.

The main photo was taken in Hertfordshire on the hottest day of 2023. Twiggy was telling me about the new musical Close-Up, based on her life story. I went to see it when it opened in London in September. (Highly recommend! 👍)

Now in her 70s, Twiggy continues to model and enjoys a varied and stellar career. ⭐️

Before I came to the UK to resume my art studies, I worked as a professional photographer in the USA. My first published picture was at 16, so I've been taking photos for over half a century. I arrived in London from the rural Midwest in 1977 as an exchange art student with a suitcase full of questionable fashion choices and $600. Despite the culture shock, I was determined to bridge the enormous gulf between myself and the life I envisioned. Cosmetic surgery played a key role. I never imagined a decade later that others wanting similar results would start asking me for advice. And that’s how my consultancy began in 1987.

A lot has changed since then, notably the staggering amount of misleading information that now surrounds aesthetics, even from seemingly credible sources. Misinformation is the greatest threat to aesthetic success. Today, every client consultation necessarily involves dispelling false information and common misconceptions. 🤦‍♀️

Make no mistake, I also had an amazing life BEFORE. Critics have attempted to categorize me, claiming I must lack confidence or have self-esteem issues. People who know me find this hilarious.

The simple fact is that I wanted to look better. In my "before" pictures, it’s obvious that just one or two procedures wouldn’t have made much difference. (Nor would any short-lived “tweakments.”) I’m a problem-solver by nature, so I figured out how to accomplish my goals. And that’s how I invented the Extreme Makeover almost 40 years ago. Rock on! 🤘
